INDIA’S TEA AMBIANCE
The Tea Plant “CAMELLIA SINENSIS” is from the region of Yunnan, China.
Planted in Monsoon, the health of the tea bushes are maintained by regular application of a mixture “Folio”.
Tea leaves plucking is done through out the year. Hundreds of women are involved in the plucking of the tea leaves, each contributing around 21 kilograms of tea leaves in a day.
In India, Tea is mostly produced in Assam, Darjeeling {West Bengal), Nilgiri (Tamilnadu) and Munnar (Kerala), Palampur (Himachal Pradesh).
Darjeeling Tea
Darjeeling boasts the honor of a history of more than 150 years of tea
plantation. Tea growth at an altitude of 600 to 2000 meters above sea level.
Dew covered tea leaves, ready to permeate its strong Aroma, all across the
world. are plucked from Tea Gardens spread over 17500 Hectares of land.
Darjeeling Tea reflects the taste extracted from local climate, soil,
altitude and meticulous processing.
Assam Tea
Located in the vicinity of Brahamputra, at an elevation of 45 to 60 meters above sea level, Assam recieves an average rainfall of 250 to 380 cm the year around
The exuberance of Brahmaputra reflects in the strong malty flavored tea from
Assam.
Nilgiri Tea
Nilgiri Mountains enjoy the benefits of South West monsoon as well as North
East monsoon. The tea, is grown at an altitude of 1000 to 2500 meters. The
climate allows tea leaves plucking all around the year.
With slightly fruity minty flavor, the tea comes in various blends.
